A Little Bit About Me

Yep, that’s me; way back when that kind of hairstyle wasn’t illegal. Part of me remembers that day. Picture day at Robert C. Hill Elementary School in Romeoville, IL. It’s hard to tell due to the poor quality of the photo but that shirt I am wearing was so itchy, I threw a fit every single time my mother made me wear it. If I had known, then what I know now, I would’ve just kept my mouth shut. In every part of life there is an itchy shirt that we have to wear. But that’s not the point here. I am here with you today to tell a story. A story about a kid who got it all wrong, and perhaps we can all learn from his story.

I was born in a small farming community called Morris, about a few hours southwest of Chicago. From the moment that I arrived; I knew that I wanted to be a writer. My parents however, insisted that I go to school first. Bullshit, right? Couldn’t agree more.

A few days after I was born, I turned 13 and quickly realized that writing wasn’t as important as girls, and for me to attract all the girls, I had to be a musician. But not just any musician. I had to be a drummer. Once again, I went before my parents and presented them with my dilemma. They reluctantly agreed. Awesome! I was a drummer.

I joined a band. Then I joined another band. Then I joined another band. These were glorious times indeed.

Not so quick there, ya goofball. See, now that I was a drummer, I wanted to be a writer again. I was a big boy now, so I didn’t have to ask my parents. I just did it. I have written so many stories that I could probably put them all into one book. (hmmm). These stories are probably somewhere here on my website. Go find them.

My first publication was a children’s book entitled Princess Jessie and her new friend. Named after my youngest child. (I will speak of children soon. Be patient).

I’m not really a fan of the artwork but I didn’t have a say in the matter so get off my back, okay? This book sold about 25 copies if I remember correctly. Mostly people I knew and others that felt sorry for me.

My next publication was a horror novella entitled The Blood Red Box.

I created the artwork for the cover, but they didn’t use it. They came up with this. eh. I am pretty proud of this book. It hasn’t sold well so if you’d like to help a starving artist out, just click on the image and you can buy it.

I got myself some kids. These are them.

As most of you know, I am still a drummer, and I am still a writer. I am doing these until I figure out what I want to do when I grow up. Thanks mom & dad .
